In February 2023, our incredible client Ilitaqsiniq was honoured with the largest annual prize in Canada: the $1-million Arctic Inspiration Prize, which celebrates and provides seed funding to Northern teams with innovative project ideas.
The prize was awarded at the annual Northern Lights Conference in Ottawa for Ilitaqsiniq’s Pilimmaksaijuliriniq Project. Pilimmaksaijuliriniq was developed in response to the National Inuit Suicide Prevention Strategy and other northern mental wellness action plans to build additional mental health support capacities across Inuit Nunangat. The project is just one of many initiatives Ilitaqsiniq uses to empower Nunavummiut to be capable and confident.
